Hello everyone! My name is Darren Alff and I am a serial entrepreneur. I own several companies and operate a variety of different websites. My interests revolve around self-improvement, self-supported travel, and film/literature. I love the outdoors and am always up for a hike, bike ride, or day on the ski slopes. I'm origionally from Southern California, but I now live in Park City, Utah. I've spent the last seven years traveling around the United States on my bicycle and have recently returned from a long distance bicycle tour through Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic. If you are interested in bicycle touring or starting a career in the film and television industry, please contact me! I'd love to help you get started and share my knowledge!

This is a controversial article for many bicyclists I think. Many bikers believe that their odometer is an essential part of the biking equipment, and few would dream of leaving their odometer at home, but there are some good suggestions here on how you can either leave your odometer at home or use it in such a way that won't drive you crazy; will allow you to concentrate on the scenery around you; and will still allow you to track you miles if you insist on doing that.
